Background: Cullin 1 may be involved in the degradation of positive cell cycle regulators (for example G1 cyclins in yeast). Human cullin 1 forms a complex with Skp1 and the F box protein Skp2, which is thought to play a role in the ubiquitination of G1 regulatory proteins, as its homolog does in yeast.
